Jim Bomford is the Vice President and CEO of Ballinakill Inc. a government and political consulting firm. The company was founded in 1974 in New York by Jim’s father, William J. Bomford.
Jim has served as a consultant or as an appointee on advisory boards in New York for Gov. Mario Cuomo, Mayor Ed Koch, District Attorney, Elizabeth Holtzman and the staff of Staten Island Boro President Guy Molinari on matters concrning the NYMTA.. In Florida for Governor Jeb Bush, the Florida Department of Health, Florida Department of Law Enforcement Select Committee on police firearms training standards, Representative Tom Feeney’s Homeland Security Advisory Council and chaired the Health Care Task Force of Seminole County Florida. He was also a Florida Constitutional Officer as Fire Commissioner of an ALS Fire District. He also served as a Florida registered lobbyist for the Volusia County Firefighters Council representing the cities of Deltona, Daytona and Port Orange. Mr. Bomford currently represents the interests of thousands of retired police officers as their Washington DC Legislative Representative.
An honors graduate in Political Science of from Long Island University, holder of a graduate tutorial in American Constitutional Law and History he received his graduate education in Public Administration from C.W.Post.
Jim whose family hails from Mullingar and Westmeath has long been involved with Irish organizations. Most recently working with the IAUC, AOH and IAR he was, with the aid of Senator David Simmons, able to secure the passage of the Florida United Ireland Resolution. A few years back he enlisted the aid of then Speaker Feeney to prevent the repeal of the Florida MacBride Principles.
His hobbies include postwar model trains, auto racing and target shooting. His wife is Virginia Bomford nee Virginia Walsh
